Rites Tomorrow For William E. Lyle, 65:
William Ennis Lyle, 65, of the Church Hill Community, died at
11:10 p.m. March 30, at his home after an illness of six years.
A native of Christian County, Mr. Lyle had lived his entire life
in that community on Walnut Grove Lane, route 1, where he farmed.
Services will be at 10 a.m. tommorow (April 1) at Henninger Funeral
Home with his pastor, the Rev. Loren W. Richter, officiating, and he will
be assisted by a former pastor, the Rev. Brooks Major, pastor of Millbrooke
Christian Church. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery at LaFayette.
Mr. Lyle was born Nov. 8, 1899, the son of the late Charles T.
Lyle and Mrs. Emma Tresch Lyle, who survives. He was a member of the Libery
Christian Church.
Survivors, other than his mother, include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth
Rogers Lyle; two daughters, Mrs. Davidson Southall of LaFayette, and Mrs.
Noble Noel, of Church Hill; three sons, James E. and Rogers E. Lyle, both
of Church Hill and David S. Lyle, of Bellville, IL; four sisters, Mrs.
Ben Adcock, Mrs. Raleigh Underwood, Mrs. Guy Farmer, and Mrs. Garland Farmer,
all of the county, and three brothers, Wallace Lyle and Thomas Lyle, both
of the county, and Ted Lyle of Baldknob, Arkansas.
Six grandchildren also survive. One son, William A. Lyle, preceded
him in death in 1940.
