Emma Younce, fourteen years old, of Cavitts Creek, committed suicide Monday afternoon by shooting herself through the abdomen.  Death came instantly.  She was a sister of B. Younce, who met a tragic death some months ago.  So far as is known there was no cause for Emma Younce killing herself.  She was a student here the past year at the
Tazewell High School, and was well liked by her associates.  The funeral service took place Tuesday afternoon, and was in charge of Dr. Arrowood, of the Presbyterian church.

J.W. Gillespie, of Burke's Garden, is in the Bluefield Sanitarium suffering from knife wounds said to have been inflicted by Roach Pauley who is in jail here charged with the crime.  From information coming to officials here it is believed that Gillespie's wounds resulted from a general fight in the Garden, and that liquor was probably the cause of the difficulty.

Mont Bolt shot and killed Otis Coleman in
Abbs Valley Saturday afternoon.  Little information on the shooting is available here.  So far as is known no causes have been assigned.  Coleman was a brother in law of Bolt and both resided in the house.

Claude Nipper is alleged to have shot Jeff Myers just outside the church at Pounding Mill, the shooting being the outcome of a dispute between the men over alleged remarks one of them made about the other's sister.  Myers is in the Richlands hospital.  Dr. Williams thinks he will recover from his wounds.

Sam Hammet was given a preliminary hearing Monday, charged with shooting john Boling. The affair occurred at
