Bulletin Dale Edward Hymes, 64, of 379 Morehead Ave., Ridgeway, died June 1, 2001, at his residence. He was born March 12, 1937, in Tazewell County, a son of the late Nelson Arle Hymes and the late Ethel F. Spence Hymes. He graduated from Tazewell High School and from Virginia Tech in 1958 where he was a Lt. Col. Battalion Commander in the Corps of Cadets. Also in Tazewell, he belonged to the Masonic Lodge and the First Baptist Church. He retired from DuPont as a transportation engineer with 17 years of service. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Lynn Peery Hymes of the home; two daughters, Elizabeth P.H. Fletcher of Midlothian and Amy M. Hymes Howell of Christiansburg; one son, Eric Edward Hymes of Bedford; one brother, Dean M. "Mike" Hymes of Tazewell; and six grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today at Perry and St. Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell. The Rev. Tom Conley will officiate. Burial with Masonic graveside rites will be in Maplewood Cemetery there . Community Funeral Services, Ridgeway, is handling local arrangements. |
