MRS. MARTHA HAYES NUNLEY- Martha Hayes Nunley, 85, of North Tazewell, died Thursday Feb. 20th, 1997, at a Tazewell Hospital, following a short illness.

Born February 21, 1911, at Skygusty WVa, She was the daughter of the late William Elgin Hayes, Sr. and Barbara Louviena Cartwright Hayes.  She was a lifetime member of the Horsepen Church of Christ.  She was a retired employee of Gilliam Furniture Company of Statesville, N. C., where she lived many years.  She was proceeded in death by her husband John Albert Nunley; one sister, Lynn Harmon, and two brothers, Gilbert Hayes and William Elgin Hayes, Jr.

She is survived by: one daughter Shirley Nunley Gallagher and her husband Charles Gallagher of North Tazewell, VA; two grandchildren, John Edward Gallagher and his wife, Connie Patterson Gallagher, and Lisa Helen Gallagher, all of North Tazewell, Va.; three great-granddaughters, Megan, Hailey, and Alexandra Gallagher. Funeral services were conducted at Perry and St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Schwitzerlett officiating.  Burial followed at the Grandview Memory Gardens on the Bluefield-Tazewell Road.
