Funeral services for Jay Oulbert Rose, 69, of Rt. 1, Raven, Va., who died Saturday afternoon at his home after a long illness, will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a. m. at Buchanan County Funeral Home at Keen Mountain, Va.

Rev. Jessie Miller and Rev. Carl Ball will officiate at the service. Burial will be in the Davis Cemetery at Shortt’s Gap, Va.

Born in Buchanan County, Va., He was a son of the late George Washington and Caroline Ball Rose. He was a retired coal mineer and member of Levisa Assembly of God church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Goldie Sisk Rose; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Opale)Tackett, Mrs. Roger (Alma) McNulty, both of Rt. 1, and Mrs. Bobby (Marie) Johnson of Red Ash, Va.; five sons, Harold Rose of Red Ash, Virgil Rose, of Claypool Hill, va., Oulbert Rose of Star Route, Richlands, Va., James Rose and Darryl Rose, Both of Rt. 1, Raven; one sister, Mrs. Virgie Webb of Richlands; four brothers, Garland and John Rose, Both of Rt. 1, Raven, Glen Rose of Richlands and Daniel Rose of Raven; 21 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son and one brother.

Grandsons willl serve as pallbearers.
