Oscar
George Kimbel
Oscar George Kimbel was born in Tazewell Virginia
on 14 August 1904 toWilliam Elbert Kimble and Lula May Lewis. He was the
third of thirteen children.
Oscar lived in Tazewell his entire life. He worked
as a cabinet maker and a painter. The furniture he crafted is still in
use in many homes in the area.
On 2 June 1933 Oscar married Ella B. Vance, daughter
of John G. Vance and Nancy Margaret Spence. They have three children: Willie,
Fred and Robin -- all living. The family lived on Hotel Ave.
Ella died in 1963 and Oscar passed away in 1988.
They are buried in the Maplewood Cemetery in North Tazewell.
