On 20 October 1791, in Fairfax County VA, Abednigo White deeded three slaves (Milly and her two children, Lewis and Abraham) to his step sons, Richard, Ralph and George Steele (who were all minors at that time.) There is no record of the Steele boys ever owning these slaves, and Abednigo White still "owned" Milly and Abraham when he died in Dec.1819 or Jan. 1820.

When Abednego White died, his estate appraisement mentioned slaves: Abram, Beck & child; Bet, Caesar, Reuben, Dick, Let, Brice, Milly, Patty & Rease (Tazewell County Will Book I, page 100)
