William Williams

William WILLIAMS (1778-1857) married Sarah Anne CHATTIN in Pittsylvania County on 4 March 1798.  William is believed to have been the designer and builder of the first Tazewell County Courthouse/City Hall.

William and Sarah moved to Tazewell County where their first child, John Chattin WILLIAMS, was born December 1798.  John's siblings were Rebecca (married Harvey George PEERY), Evan (Married Isabelle Kendrick), and Dr.
William G. (married Elizabeth RADER).

John Chattin WILLIAM, married Eleanor PEERY on 20 Oct 1820 in Tazewell. Children born of John and Eleanor were Angeline (married Allen NOBLE), Thomas J. (married Sarah Evans PEERY), Sarah Jane (married Robert Davidson PEERY), William Harvey (married Catherine MILLER), Samuel  (married Rebecca THOMPSON), Evans D. (married Sarah DEAN), Julia (Arch DAVID and later Jonathon WAYNE), James (married a Miss TREDELL), Mary E. (married James G.), and Margaret (married Thomas THOMPSON and later Nick DORSEY).
